The Body Shop is where the cars are repaired for body damage and painted to bring it original finish. Tinkering and painting needs a high level of skill and workmanship to get the best finish and durability from the repair. The damages can be various such as deep scratches, dents, rusting, paint peeling off, paint fade, clear coat peeling off etc. Each damage needs a variety of repairs before the actual painting happens. Once the surface is prepared and is free of defects, the surface now will be sprayed with Primer (colour of the primer can vary with the base coat colour). Once the primer is sprayed and cured, it is sanded to ensure any orange peel is removed. Post that it is very important to clean the sanded surface with a good quality degreaser to ensure all residue and silica/oil content is removed for the best paint adhesion. Now the important step of colour matching happens with the rest of the panels (in case of an accident repair). Once the colour is matched, the base coat is then sprayed (multiple layers at most times) and left to dry for a duration of atleast 15 minutes. Post this the Clear coat is sprayed and left to cure for a few hours.
Once the clear coat is cured, the painted surface is then sanded again to remove any imperfections and polished to give the best possible shine to the surface.
